New Gallery created - Argyll & Bute

Martin and I have just returned from an idyllic stay in Argyll & Bute. It was an area previously unknown to us - the Arrochar Alps. Basically, it’s just a left turn half way up Loch Lomond at Tarbet and you are there in a few minutes. We stayed in a lovely B&B at Succoth called Ben Bheula directly below Ben Arthur - The Cobbler - on the shores of Loch Long.
The weather was just perfect, wall to wall sunshine and virtually no wind. Ideal for photography and walking. The road up to Rest and Be Thankful through Glen Croe and on to Loch Fyne through Glen Kinglas was spectacular with snow on the tops of the mountains. We also had trips out to Inverary Castle which was sadly still closed for the winter and on to Knapdale before coming back on the Tarbert ferry (freezing!!).  We also drove down through Gleann Mor to Lochgoilhead and on to Carrick Castle.
Martin climbed up The Cobbler as far as the snow line to get some great views and I’m afriad to say that I ducked out having eaten far too much food on the three nights we were there at the super Ballyhennan restaurant at Tarbet. But I did have a lovely walk through the Argyll Forest down to Ardgarten in the warm sunshine.
I hope you like the images. This is a great area with loads to do and see. Four days meant that we only just scratched the surface. Somewhere else we must go back to I think.
