New Year trip to Scotland in fabulous weather
It has always been an ambition of mine to spend Hogmany in Scotland. This year it finally happened. My wife and I spent 7 fabulous days at Duror near Glen Coe where the scenery was spectacular and the weather was as near as perfect as it can be. Every day the sun shone on those spectacular mountains, lochs and white sandy beaches and it was hard to know what to photograph next.
I had long wanted to photograph Buachaille Etive Mor since I saw a fabulous image taken by Joe Cornish. On each of the previous occasions that I’ve been there, the cloud was down and I could see nothing. But not this time, it was perfect and the light was truly stunning. I hope that I’ve done it justice.
So many places to visit, I really didn’t know where to go next. The Road to the Isles was another favourite. I will not forget in a long time the moment when I came along the road up to the Glenfinnan Monument to find a heavy frost on the trees and a mist over the Loch just as the sun was going down. Magic!!
The sandy white beaches between Arasaig and Morar where also quite spectacular. We spent all day at one beach with Sheila hunting for shells as I took so many images that I almost filled up all my cards.
I hope that you like the results. You’ll find them in the Latest Work Gallery and in the Scotland 2008 On-line shop. There are still more to come. Enjoy!!!
