Paradise Refrigerated

Paradise Refrigerated

Just arrived home from a trip to the Outer Hebrides and Skye where we managed to get 16 consecutive rainy and windy days including one where we had a massive storm with very strong gales. We were staying just by the light house at the Butt of Ness! I was glad to see my car parked outside where I had left it the next morning and not to find it blown away miles down the coast.

We visited North and South Uist, Benbecula, Berneray, Harris, Lewis and Skye. The scenery was spectacular but I spent a lot of time sitting in the car waiting for the rain to stop and the sun to come out. I managed OK until we hit Skye where we had an almost constant downpour for the 4 days that we were there. It’s very disappointing when you have planned a trip like this for so long but you just have to get on with it in the end and manage the best that you can. It hasn’t put me off this fabulous area but next time I will be sure to wait for a good spell and book at the last minute.

I am just going through the images that I shot at the moment and will create a new gallery for the website when I am ready.

No wonder they call it ‘paradise refirigerated’. Sums it up perfectly for me I think.
