Skiddaw reflections from Robin Hood, Bassenthwaite

April 14th 2010

I wanted to take an image of Skiddaw that was a little different than those that you usually see. I was driving along a country lane near Robin Hood, Bassenthwaite when I spotted a pool of melt water in a field just by the road. The day was really still and there was no wind at all. Skiddaw was covered in the remains of a heavy fall of snow from a few days previous and was perfectly reflected in the water.
I think that the image looks quite alpine in nature and shows off Longside Edge and Skiddaw itself perfectly. A different view of a popular mountain.
