Skiddaw reflections in Bassenthwaite Lake

April 14th 2010

I was travelling back to the lodge along the A66 when I looked across to Dodd and saw this great reflection. There is a handy car park which twitchers use to to watch the ospreys where you can pull in and get right down to the lake side, not easy on the western shores of Bassenthwaite Lake. Dodd, Longside Edge and Carlside are beautifully reflected in the lake which was incredibly high due to the recent snow having melted. The submerged grass in the foreground breaks up the image providing a nice lead-in line for the eye.
