Cloud reflections at Bassenthwaite

January 6th 2008

I was up in Keswick for an exhibition and it was my turn to make breakfast (groan). I got up, threw back the curtains and WOW!!!!!! - the cloud was lying low in a blanket over Bassenthwaite Lake and the sky was absolutely spectacular with a capital ‘S’.
Breakfast was soon forgotten as Sheila and I dressed quickly and made a run for the car. On the way down I couldn’t decide if to turn right at the Castle Inn or go straight on. Fate dealt me a good hand and I turned right pulling in at Bassenthwaite Sailing Club one of my favourite early morning haunts. The result is what you see here. Mornings don’t get any better.
