This famous Duke of Portland boathouse lies on the shores of Ullswater near Pooley Bridge. The boathouse sold last year for well in excess of £350,000 after permission was granted for it to be used as a permanent home.
This is a difficult shot to take as it can only be taken from the busy road that runs by it. I took this in autumn when the trees and reeds around the boathouse turn different shades of orange and brown. The little star on the roof makes an interesting feature when reflected in the calm water.
