Slater Bridge, Little Langdale

November 19th 2006

Slaters Bridge in Little Langdale is one of the English Lake District’s iconic views. It’s an old stone packhorse bridge in a lovely setting which took slate miners over the River Brathay on their return to Langdale after a hard day’s work.
Just as I was setting up my camera, a group of walkers decided to have a picnic on the bridge. It was a long wait until they’d finished but I think it was worth it.
