Mirror Reflections at dawn, Ullswater

June 22nd 2005

This image was taken on the same day as Early Morning Mist on Bassenthwaite Lake.
I raced on here after taking my Bassenthwaite shots and luckily the mist was still just as thick when I arrived at this private mooring near Pooley Bridge. The yacht and jetty were casting a mirror reflection in Ullswater.
A lot of people have said that the image has a Japanese feel to it because of its clean and simple lines which making the viewer feel calm and peaceful. It’s almost black and white with just a touch of blue on the boat’s hull. It makes a nice pairing with the Bassenthwaite shot and more than often people buy them both to display together.
