Frosty Evening, River Brathay near Elterwater

My new camera had been begging me to take it out since Christmas Day. Finally it got its own way. I took this image on the short walk from Elterwater to Skelwith Bridge alongside the River Brathay. The frost had never cleared from the ground as the temperature was well below freezing. As the sun was setting, there was a lovely purple glow in the sky and the trees were reflected in the still water. I got this shot just before the light faded and was very pleased with my Christmas present.
