Port of Ness is a village on the Isle of Lewis in the parish of Ness. It was just a few minutes away from our B&B Loch Beag at Fivepenny Ness but we had left it until very late on our last day to visit.
Here you will find an intriguing little harbour, the entrance to which is through the gap between a cliff face and a large rocky islet. One end of the harbour merges into an extremely attractive east-facing beach where the tide was racing in. As you can see from the big sky, it was quite stormy and later on that night we had a 90 mph gale. We were very cold after our beach expedition and it was great to return to our B&B where Edna our wonderful hostess made us one of the best meals that we had during our whole stay on the Outer Hebrides.
