Location: Catbells lies on the western shore of Derwentwater near Keswick
It was one of those days when I thought I would get up early 6.00am and hope there would be some low cloud and mist over Derwentwater. As it was dark I couldn’t really tell what the conditions were like driving to the car park below Catbells but I knew there was a sharp frost with little wind. After parking the car ( first there !! ) I knew there was no low cloud over the lake but still decided to climb Catbells as I didn’t want to waste my early get up. I waited until the sun climbed above Walla Crag which lite up Skelgill Bank, the frost in the valley and some of the autumn colours along the western bank of Derwentwater. There were also some beautiful low cloud on Skiddaw and Blencathra which for me makes the shot.
