Collection: Scotland

Scottish Landscape Photography is so diverse; it has it all. It ranges from the wind swept beaches of Harris and Lewis to the dramatic mountain scenery of Glencoe, Torridon, The Quiraing and the Cuillins on the Isle of Skye. There is history to be found at the spectacular Eilean Donan Castle, Glenfinnan Monument, Callanish Stones and Neist Point Lighthouse. Fast flowing rivers run through the picturesque Glen Etive, Glen Lyon and Glen Brittle.
The light in Scotland is so different to anywhere else I have ever photographed. A trip up to Glencoe to capture Buachaille Etive Mor after a fall of snow is always high on my agenda as is a trip to the Isle of Skye to climb up to the Old Man of Storr and take in the spectacular coastal views. I am constantly planning the next trip and searching out new places to photograph. So keep an eye on this Gallery for new entries, as I will be adding them often.

Best Selling Images of Scotland

(24 images in collection)

These are my best selling images of Scotland. Whilst they represent only a small percentage of my portfolio, the rest of which you can find in their individual Collections, they consistently prove to be the most popular. It’s a list of images that has...

Scottish Panoramas

(16 images in collection)

Panoramic images have greatly increased in popularity over the last few years. I normally mount my camera on a tripod and take two or three images which are then ‘stitched’ together using specialist software. Sometimes however, I will simply take a single image with the...

Isle of Skye

The Inner Hebrides are a chain of islands and skerries located off the west of mainland Scotland. There are 36 inhabited islands in this archipelago of which Islay, Mull and Skye are the largest and most populous. This is a fabulous area for photography and a...

Glencoe & Rannoch Moor

(21 images in collection)

This is one of my favourite places in Scotland for taking photographs. It contains, in my opinion, some of the wildest and most dramatic scenery in the country. The view to Buachaille Etive Mor seen from the River Coupall Falls, Glen Etive, the view across...

The famous Red Roof Cottage at Loch Shieldaig

Wester Ross

(12 images in collection)

Wester Ross is an area well known for its spectacular mountain scenery, especially the Torridon Hills which includes such peaks as Beinn Eighe and Liathach. It has some of the most remote, wild and roadless land in all of the UK.

Argyll & Bute

(21 images in collection)

Argyll & Bute has some wonderful mountains, fantastic seascapes and a glorious coastline, not to mention idyllic islands and all within a short drive from Glasgow. We visited in February 2010 when the weather was glorious. Clear blue skies, not a breath of wind and a dusting...

The Outer Hebrides also known as the Western Isles and the Long Island, is an island chain off the west coast of mainland Scotland. Most of the islands have a bedrock formed from ancient metamorphic rocks and the climate is mild and oceanic. The 15 inhabited...
